Prisoner

Because she leaned to watch her reflection
Move into the colors of ivory mud
Every time it rained.

And she has carved her name
On every wall of this place
It’s not hers, and it’s not his.

His traps were never for her paws
But she sickly tasted every bruise
And now she’s caught, and now she’s not

Singing lalala counting backwards
Bending several melodies
Into a tight knot.

She grows prettier in this dark room
Crying petal of rose blood
Everytime he steps in

To savor her small bits
And she tied with her age
Bound by his fear.

“I will claim your throat
By the sharpest of truths
The day I find my sanity”

And she is sick of carving her name backwards
Senses a pond conceived with her reflections
But this time, still and calm.

It’s just you.

“It’s just you.” Of course, this point is open ended and arguable.

1. There is no free will.
Alright, this one always starts out as a little hard to deal with, because people as a species base sort of a lot on the fact that there is free will. Tricky, but really, if there’s a cause for everything (which, to me, has been proven), then humans have no ability to choose in spite of their pasts. However, “past” includes every second, and people seem to conclude that the past implies something like “years ago,” but really, two minutes ago is still the past, and once you realize that, it’s not quite so…entrapping a fact. While there’s no free will, we are still agents of our own destiny. Because for certain events to happen, there have to be certain prerequisites for it, and human action is still a part of some of those prerequisites. It’s not that there’s will and it isn’t free, just that there isn’t will. Since everything that happens is a direct result of a combination of things that happened before it, there’s no choice to be made. You really just get to see if some parts of your past will sort of “overpower” others (just to anthropomorphize). Actually, since there is no real decision, then how can there really be a “self”? Since everything really is predetermined, “self” is like an illusion. And since there’s no self…

2. Beliefs, values, morals, and all other things personal.
There’s often a sort of trickiness in dealing with people’s perception of “who they are.” It’s silly, really, it’s like the notion that they can’t change, or they can’t do certain things, because that’s not who they are. Well, that’s silly, because if you would just do those things, you’d be that person. I’m often perplexed by people’s refusal to change. It makes life so difficult. Especially since “who you are” is something that you really have no control over. It’s still like the free will thing, “who you are” is just a big bunch of effects from causes that were completely out of control in the first place. So why would people adopt such a maladaptive behavior? Ah ha! It’s because this concept that they have choice, that they have a “self,” a “who they are,” it all promotes survival. They have a self, so they become attached to it, and they are led to take care of it, to make sure it survives. It’s sort of naïve, like that they’ll last forever if they just try hard enough. However, it keeps them from dying long enough to make babies or somehow or other institute this idea of “self” and “decision” into someone else, so “self” is actually self-perpetuating. Doesn’t really excuse it or anything, but it does explain it. Now, beliefs, values, morals, all of that. They’re all taught. No one ever gets to decide what they believe, really, because…well that free will again. So since beliefs and stuff are just things that were taught to you, why would you make decisions based on them? I mean, it’s not “you,” that’s someone else. Some other person made that up, why would you believe them? Normally, it’s just because someone’s told to. However, I must give credit where credit’s due, there are some people on this world who haven’t just believed everything they were told by other people. Some people have just let life go by, seen for themselves what’s going on, and then from that, formulated some things. A lot of people are really against changing what they believe, because it’s sort of accepted that whatever your morals or beliefs or anything are, that’s what you’re supposed to go with. Like you’re not supposed to question yourself. I mean, “Self.” (That’s a hard habit to break.) But not only beliefs, but also values, morals, and judgments. Even tastes, wants, desires, they’re all educated or genetic, and none of it has to be “you.” However, most people I’ve met are ignorant of that fact.

Alright now, through these two points i'll take you to my Exchange experience at the age of 16 in USA. For quite a bit of time I resisted my SELF from changing but then it all happened more of willingly.
New kid on the block. I needed to adapt to the new social surrounding, to establish a sense of fitting in. So I simply (without my noticing), imitated those around me. Not like how most people do, how they simply grow to act a certain way, or begin to belong to a certain group. It was instantaneous, flawless imitation. I adopted with great rapidity their speech patterns, their posture, their attitudes, every little piece of their personality was, in a blink, absorbed and reflected.

It all seemed fine up until I stepped back in the place where me and my SELF belonged. I couldn't fit back in my old self, and people some people had a rough time looking at this new person.

My favorite analogy for the this incident(yes I call it an incident) is that it was like sailing on a ship, on open water, for all the time you’d ever known. And then you see another ship. And you raft up to it, and for a while, these individual two ships are somewhat one. And then you wake up one morning, and the other ship is gone. Not sailing away, or packing up to leave, but gone. Out of sight, completely. But before they left, they took everything that was on your ship. You don’t wake up on a ship; you wake up afloat in open water

So I learned to swim. I was no longer bound by my need to stay on my metaphorical ship; I didn’t have to keep it maintained, for it was already gone.

Wolfe's piano

Another collaboration with Kulsum :),
There is a pianist who plays my literature in strange notes
In every note a part of my soul floats

It tickles my pain and brings me closer to the edge
It tears my restrain, tears my confidence to shreds

Tracking new paths on his howling canvas, he stops and stares
And drags his limbs to walk in the sun without a fear

Shadow covered ghost follow the spell of his piano
The spell which is working its way so powerfully, yet neither knows

“no more alibis” he says leaving the stars to sleep endlessly
Himself, he wishes to drown in the spell, to live in dreams miraculously

He dreamed thousand and one tales, and time gone by
But had to breathe in reality, to shed the tears and then dry

Into a pile of aching bones, where no ashes lay silent
He wishes to stay calm, even if feels violent

He clenches his teeth into a painful smile
For it was the best way to live if he must, at least for the while

Another HP coaster is coming

Every year MTV movie awards highlight some sort of movie or at least show a premier trailer. I was watching the MTV movie awards last night; I have to say I have grown out of them. I used to jump out of my seat when someone I liked would win, but it’s just seems plain boring and senseless now. I am not going to post a review about these awards, because they were far beyond what creativity means to me. These awards were full of F bombs and stupid stuff that isn’t worth watching but I still watched them huh!. So, they premiered Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows teaser trailer, as much as I have hated the HP movies in past, I have to say I am excited for this one.

I can list out a 100 random reasons to prove to you that I am excited because I don’t actually have a solid reason. So far none of the movies this year have lived the expectations; none of them have been creative and awesome enough to make me want to watch them over and over again, with the exception of one, HOW TO TRAIN A DRAGON. You should watch it.

So anyway, I am excited for the new HP movie, I have read the book about three times, or may be more than three times, I don’t really keep a record. This movie is still in process of making, I am happy that harry and his two friends are finally going to get out of that wizard jail Hogwarts and go out to see what real world is like – it still won’t be real enough of course. I was bored out of seeing that castle in every movie and finally we are going to get some good story line from Miss JK Rowling, HP 6 was all about teenage love and juvenile infatuations, and not to mention Daniel needs to work on his acting skills, I bet my younger brother can act better than him. Despite of all this I am still hoping Deathly Hallows to be good one, trailer seems awesome and one of the reason I watch HP movies is the animation and the quality of picture. HP has probably one the best teams to work with; some of the most creative people are hired to make every animation look real. The dragons, broomsticks, flying, Voldemorts noseless face, and the lighting effects are simply amazing and unbelievably real like. I think they should animate in the facial expressions for Daniel too.

The trailer speaks for itself, deathly hallows isn’t gonna be a boring ride for sure. Leme know why you like or don’t like HP movies? Are you a only book fan too? Do you find voldemort wicked with those sleek nostrils?

Christina Aguilera

Christina María Aguilera  is an American pop singer and songwriter. Aguilera first appeared on national television in 1990 as a contestant on the Star Search program, and went on to star in Disney Channel's television series The New Mickey Mouse Club from 1993–1994.

Never been a big pop fan, reason being that pop world is full of wannabes. Hardly any of those pop stars are worth what they are treated as. The ones i like to watch perform or listen to are the ones i think have consistently shown creativity and artistry in their work. I put Aguilera on the top. She can be rightly crowned as the queen of pop culture. If you google her, the pictures you will find are BALONEY, those pictures will make you judge her. This is what internet does.

Most of the pop stars are just bunch of fame hungry people with no talent what so ever and just famous for no reason. Aguilera is not one of them. She is original, and the best thing about her is that she can actually SING. Are you shocked? why? may be you are used to listening to people like Ke$ha or brittany who are absolutely horrific live and without the current technology which can make a donkey sound like and angle, these ladies would be dead. I mean no offence but fact is fact.

Ephemeral Roof Exchange

Following is the stunning proposal ‘Ephemeral Roof Exchange’ by Austrian architects Steven Ma Tze Chung, Wendy Fok Wei Yue and Dominik Strzelec that was awarded the Second Place in the HKBCF Competition.

Design Concept

Bringing together a fusion of technological, economical and cultural entities, and combining a public free space into a unified secure zone between Hong Kong, Macao, and Zhuhai, the “ephemeral roof exchange” becomes an interactive connection point and node which extends its use as a pivotal point of interaction fro the three points of entry, while establishing itself for future new developments in and around the area of the site.
